Back to Basics - Fun
A couple of years back, we set out to grow programs for the U12+ kids who still wanted soccer for fun. We created a program for our high-school aged Armonk United players, and this has grown yearly. As part of that we created Friday Night Lights. This is a purely optional program that has been very successful and popular. This program is simply arrive, grab a pinnie and play. There are no drills, few parents, (AU Trainers are there and maybe one or two assigned parents, deep in the background).
In essence, it is pick-up soccer under the lights at IBM. The idea is to recreate the free play days of our own youth times that seems so hard to replicate today.
This year we are looking to extend this to the middle-school aged players in Armonk United (open to Core and Travel). Likely starting Oct 2nd, we are going to try to create an FNL for MS 630-8p. (The HS age goes 8p-10p).
For Armonk United players: (Travel and Core) you simply need to sign up and show up. PLEASE BRING A SIGNED MEDICAL FORM, SAME ONE AS BEFORE ONLY A FRESH COPY.
For Non ArmonkUnited Players: This program is also available to those who may be in a club/school program outside of ArmonkUnited but would like a chance to play with their buddies. While in years past we could accommodate this more informally, the cost of both the Trainer supervision and the cost of the lights have made this program more. The price for solely FNL registration is $75 for the fall and registration details can be found on our web site.
